Car News Desk – Citroën is about to bring a new SUV in the Indian market which has been named as the C3 Aircross. The company has released its first teaser in which a glimpse of this SUV has been seen. It will be brought to India first. The Citroën C3 Aircross is a global product from the company but has been customized as per the requirements of the Indian market. It will be unveiled on April 27, where its features, engine etc. will be revealed.
Even though it will be a new product from the company in India and some other markets, the crossover is already being sold in several markets. It will be the second generation model that will replace the first generation model. The Citroën C3 Aircross will be a large vehicle at 4.2 meters long with an SUV design. Its styling is going to be similar to the C3 but it will be bigger than that. In this, the split headlight setup, grille and wraparound tail light are going to be somewhat similar.
The SUV will be built on the CMP platform that underpins the Jeep, Fiat and the current C3. This should help keep the price of the Citroën C3 Aircross low. Apart from this, no other equipment will be carried over from the C3 model. Although the engine of both will be the same. The Citroën C3 Aircross will be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine carried over from the C3 which produces 110hp and 190Nm of torque. So far, the information about which gearbox will be given in it has not been revealed.
Citroën C3 Aircross is going to enter the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian market to compete with the popular models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara. This SUV will be introduced in the production avatar, it can be brought in 5 and 7-seater options. Let us tell you that in future, the option of electric motor can also be given in it, although the sale of petrol model will be started first. The electric model will be brought according to the response received.
