
auto news desk, The Tata Altroz hatchback and punchy micro SUV model lineup will be further expanded with CNG variants and their electric iterations. The CNG versions of both the cars were showcased at this year’s Auto Expo. To save boot space, the carmaker has setup a new dual cylinder layout above the rear floor. Both these models have Engine Control Unit ie ECU and Direct State CNG.
According to the carmaker, the model features first-in-segment leakage detection technology. This technology can switch the car to petrol mode when there is a gas leak in the car. The powertrain setup on the Tata Altroz CNG and Punch CNG includes a 1.2L petrol engine along with a factory-fitted CNG kit. It generates maximum power of 77PS and torque of 95Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual gearbox for transmission duties.

Like the petrol model, the CNG variant is likely to get a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, leather seat upholstery, electric sunroof, height-adjustable driver seat and projector . , The Tata Punch EV made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. The car is likely to hit the road around the festive season. The model is based on an adaptive version of the Alpha platform and could be offered with Tata’s Ziptron powertrain. The electric mini SUV can get two battery packs like the Nexon EV.
Tata Altroz EV will have a different design
Externally, the electric variant may get slightly different bumpers, new wheels and colors to differentiate it from its ICE counterpart. The Tata Altroz EV is expected to arrive next year. The car could also get the same powertrain and design changes.
