After the new prices are implemented, the top diesel manual transmission rear wheel drive X (O) version of Thar has now cost Rs 55,000 more. At the same time, the price of Mahindra Thar LX hard top diesel manual transmission rear wheel drive version has now increased by Rs 1.05 lakh. Along with this, the price of its other models has also increased by Rs 28,000.

Mahindra Thar is available in the market in two versions such as rear-wheel drive and front-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version gets a choice of two powertrains, including a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It is capable of generating 150 PS and 115 PS of power respectively. It gets the option of 6-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual gearbox. While its 4-wheel drive version also gets two engine options. Which includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine option.
