car news desk, Tata Motors has the largest share of the Indian electric car market. It continues to be the market leader in the electric car market. At present, the cheapest electric car is also from Tata. Last year, the company launched the Tiago EV, which is currently the cheapest electric car in the country. Its price starts from Rs. 8.69 lakh and goes up to Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Battery, Motor and Charging

The Tata Tiago EV has two battery pack options – 19.2kWH and 24kWH. Both these battery packs are IP67 rated. The electric motor outputs 61PS/104Nm with the 19.2kWH battery pack and 75PS/114Nm with the 24kWH battery pack. The compact battery pack provides a range of 250 kms. The 24kWh battery pack offers a range of up to 315KM on a full charge. There is also a sports driving mode, in which the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.

Tiago Electric comes with 4 charging options, 15A socket charger, 3.3KW AC charger, 7.2KW AC charger and DCT fast charger support. The 7.2kW charger can charge it from 10-100% in 3.6 hours while the 15A portable charger can charge it from 10 to 100% in 8.7 hours. Similarly, through DC fast charger, it can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in just 58 minutes. The company is offering 8 years/1,60,000 km warranty on the battery pack and electric motor.
