
auto news desk, German automaker Volkswagen has unveiled new variants of its mid-size SUV Tigun and sedan Virtus. The Virtus has been given the option of a manual transmission with the 1.5 TSI engine which was missing earlier. Now the Verts will be available in the new 1.5 TSI MT variant with a 6 speed manual gearbox. There will be Vertes, GT and GT+ trims and styling details will remain the same as the earlier cars. Along with this, now it will also get a new color option Lava Blue, apart from this there is also a special edition whose color is Deep Black Pearl Paint.
Talking about the Volkswagen Taigun SUV, new trims have also been added to it. Whereas, the engine options of 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI remain the same. It gets a new 1.5 GT+ manual trim which comes with a host of features. The Tygon used to come with only the DSG variant top-end trim but now there will also be a GT Edge variant which will come in Deep Black Pearl paint and Carbon Matt Steel colour. Along with this, Lava will also be in Blue color option.
The off-road styled Trail concept was also seen with the Volkswagen Tiguan’s roof rack and black alloy plus graphics. While these variants will be launched in June 2023. The focus of the new trims is on the 1.5 TSI engine to make it more accessible and attractive to the customers. Last year in October 2022, the VW Taigun achieved a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash testing. These include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Brake Disc Wiping, Brake Assist, Electronic Differential Lock System, Dual, Front Airbags Are. Safety features like rear parking sensors are included.
