
auto news desk, As already reported, Honda’s upcoming midsize SUV may be named Elevate in India. Now the company has released a new teaser which confirms that the SUV will be named “Honda Elevate”. The new SUV is scheduled to make its global debut in India on June 6, 2023.

The Honda Elevate SUV is expected to go on sale during the festive season before Diwali this year. This new mid-size SUV will be based on the company’s new City sedan platform. It will sit between the WR-V and HR-V in the company’s global lineup. The new Elevate will come with proper SUV credentials.

The design of this new Honda Elevate, codenamed 3US, will be inspired by many models of the company including CR-V and HR-V. The SUV will get an aggressive design with a sharp nose grille. As per the leaked images, the Elevate will get a mesh-type front grille, sharp LED DRLs, a long bonnet and LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights and an upright stance.

The new Honda Elevate will get features like electric sunroof, 360-degree camera with lots of ADAS features and Honda’s Lane Watch system to detect blind spots. Also, it will get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, hill launch assist and an electronic parking brake, a large touchscreen infotainment screen and a digital driver display.

The new SUV will get the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine from the City sedan, which generates 121 bhp power and 145 Nm torque. It will get the option of 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox. Like the City Hybrid, the new Honda Elevate will also get the same 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with strong hybrid technology. The petrol engine generates 98bhp power in the hybrid set-up and 109bhp power with the hybrid. Along with this, a 1.0L turbo petrol engine can also be found which can generate 120bhp power and 173Nm torque.
Will compete with Hyundai Creta
This new SUV from Honda will compete with the best-selling Hyundai Creta SUV in the segment. There is a petrol and a diesel engine option available in this car. Soon its facelift version is also going to come in the market.
