
auto news desk, Maruti Suzuki India on Monday said its total wholesale sales in April stood at 1,60,529 units, up seven per cent. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement that it dispatched 1,50,661 units to dealers in April 2022. In April 2023, the company’s domestic sales increased by nine percent year-on-year to 1,43,558 units. Sales of small cars such as the Alto and S-Presso fell 18 per cent year-on-year to 14,110 units.

Tata Motors’ wholesale sales declined by 4 per cent to 69,599 units in April. In April 2022, the company sold 72,468 vehicles. In the domestic market, the domestic auto major’s sales declined by four per cent to 68,514 units in April. The figure was 71,467 units in the same month a year ago.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Monday said its wholesale sales in April declined by 6 per cent to 14,162 units. The company sold 15,086 vehicles in the domestic market in April 2022. The automaker also exported 1,348 units of the Urban Cruiser Highrider in April. The company said it has shut down manufacturing for a week from April 24-28, 2023, for maintenance of machinery and equipment to maintain operational efficiency, productivity and safety.

Kia India on Monday said its wholesale sales in April grew by 22 per cent to 23,216 units. The automaker had dispatched 19,019 units to the dealers in the same month last year. Kia said Sonet contributed the most to total sales last month with 9,744 units. Automaker Hyundai Motor India reported a 3.5 per cent increase in total sales in April to 58,201 units. The company gave this information in a statement released on Monday. In the same period a year ago, the company had sold 56,201 vehicles. Last month, the company’s domestic wholesale vehicle sales rose 13 per cent to 49,701 units as against 44,001 units in the year-ago period. However, the company’s exports declined to 8,500 units in April from 12,200 vehicles a year ago.
