Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, the government has implemented this rule. Earlier, dual front airbags were made mandatory for all vehicles sold on or after January 1, 2022.
Hyundai i20
The Hyundai i20 Asta (O) model gets the option of six airbags. The car comes with a 3-star GNCAP rating. There is a choice of two engines in this car, in which 1.2-liter petrol engine with 83hp/115Nm power and 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120hp/172Nm power is available.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The top-spec model of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets six airbags. It is the cheapest car to come with this feature, with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 7.95 Lakh to Rs. 8.51 lakhs. All other variants get four airbags as standard.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets six airbags as standard in the Zeta and Alpha trims, while the other variants get two airbags. It gets a 1.2-litre engine that generates 90hp and 113Nm in petrol mode and 77.5hp and 98.5Nm of torque in CNG mode. It gets the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. The ex-showroom price of this car is between Rs. 8.38 Lakh to Rs. 9.88 lakhs.
Hyundai Aura
Only the top-spec SX(O) trim of the Aura gets six airbags, all other variants get only four airbags. It gets a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which generates 83hp power and 114Nm torque. This trim only gets a 5-speed manual gearbox. The ex-showroom price of this car is Rs 8.61 lakh.
Toyota Glanza
This car is based on Maruti Baleno. The Toyota Glanza gets six airbags in the G and V trims. It also gets six airbags with the CNG powertrain. The car gets a 1.2-litre engine that generates 90hp power and 113Nm torque in petrol mode and 77hp power and 98.5Nm torque in CNG mode.
